Visit Eskdale Show

There are several ways to reach the Eskdale Show, ensuring you can choose the most convenient route.

By Car:

  • From the A595: For an easier drive, approach from the A595 at Gosforth or Holmrook and follow signs for Eskdale.
  • Important: Please be aware that the "shortest route" function on navigation devices may direct you over the Wrynose and Hardknott passes from the Ambleside area or over Birker Moor fell road from Broughton-in-Furness. These routes are only suitable for cars without trailers or caravans and for experienced drivers. The Birker Moor fell road is less challenging but still not suitable for large vehicles or caravans.

By Train:

  • Take the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway from Ravenglass and get off at Eskdale Green. From there, it's a short distance to the show field entrance. Please be aware that this route is on a main road, which will be increasingly busy with traffic from the show. You can view the route on Google Maps.

By Taxi:

  • Eskdale Taxis: Book ahead to ensure availability.

Parking:

  • There is no parking on the show field except for some exhibitors, judges and committee members. Visitors pay £5 to enter on foot with cars parked on the field opposite the entrance gate.
